Let’s begin today with our foundational texts for this series. Genesis 1:3 says, And God said, let there be light and there was light. And Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Let’s add another scripture to our study this week. Romans 10:17 says, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
1) Faith comes by Hearing.
Confessing the Promises of God from the word of God brings faith for the promise. One year ago, I took a job that required me to interpret EKGs. I began to confess that I read EKGs better than anybody. And when I took the competency Test, I received a score of 100%.
2) You are the Number One Hearer of Your Confession.
Ephesians 4:29 says, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. I heard a story of an individual that was exhausted from his current job. He said to himself, if I can just make it one more day until the weekend, I will be okay. But prior to leaving for work he got into an argument with his wife. He said if you keep it up you will cause me to quit my job. When he got to work, He was told that the office was short-staffed and his workload would be increased by 33% that day. On the spot, he decided to resign and go home. Again, you are the number one hearer of your confession.
3) You have to Understand points 1 and 2.
Finally, Confession is to Faith as gas is to an automobile. Confession fuels your faith and gas fuels an automobile.
We never like to close our program without giving you the opportunity to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Would you pray with me? Say, Lord Jesus I repent of my sins, come into my heart, I make you my Savior and Lord. Friends, if you prayed that prayer, I believe you got Born Again. Keep God first place in your life. I believe He’s going to take you further than you ever dreamed.
