I remember when I began to investigate Christianity. It was right after I heard the voice of God say,”You have tried everything to be happy. Why don’t you see what the Christians have to live for?” I went home and took a Bible off my closet shelf. It was given to me a year prior and I never intended to read it. But I began to read it. Then I started watching church on TV every Sunday. I would watch it on a television that had a UHF signal. You had to dial it in the channel like a radio. I could never see the picture because it was to fuzzy. But the pastor seemed so happy to be talking about Jesus. So, I would listen every Sunday. when I was dating my wife there were many times we would spend the entire evening watching Christian television. And when we got married, we would attend our Sunday morning service, then attend her sister’s Church service. Then go back to our church for evening service or to another church for a special Sunday night service.
You can see that I was hungry for God. I remember a saying, “if they were to haul you into court will there be enough evidence to convict you for being a Christian.” And in my case, I guess there is evidence. If you’re a Christian I feel far from God, why don’t you open up your Bible and begin to read it. or why don’t you stream a church service to your computer or listen to a podcast. it won’t be long until you become hungry for God again. Because you have a promise in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
And if you’re not a Christian and want to become one, would you pray with me. Say, Lord Jesus I repent of my sins, come into my heart, I make you my Savior and Lord. Friends, if you prayed that prayer, I believe you got Born Again. Keep God first place in your life. I believe He’s going to take you further than you ever dreamed.
